public administration

a good administrator is a person who is works for the state not for the people in office. they look for ways to better their state. when the budget is down they dont go for votes for next year but they are improving their state and stick to the policies that have made the state strong through out the years. a good administarator is able to be close enough with the people with his or her state and get an idea to make the state better as a whole not select groups of people/

govenor

The govenor of a state is supposed to work with his officials to make his or her state a state that is able to compete with near by states to make their state better. The best govenor in my opinion is govenor Paris Glendening he served his term from 1993-2003 he is a political science major.Glendening's career in public service began in 1973 as a city councilman in the town of Hyattsv. He was elected to the county council of Prince George's County, Maryland in 1974 and twice served as the council chairman. In 1982, he was elected as the County Executive of Prince George's County, and was the first county executive in Maryland history to be elected to three terms (1982–94). Paris during his second term dealt with environmental issues and is recognized as the pioneer in land development.in his many years of service he was able to make maryland a state that is recognized as a top state in the united states.
In contrast to the current govenor Martin O'Malley is trying to improve the states educational system. As the govenor he is continuing the excellence of marylands public schooling. he has quoted on his site that he is keeping marylands public schooling system number one in the nation. He is also helping colleges with funding so the state is able to have student with hard working families able to get an education. The two govenors contrast in where they focus on glendening's ideas were concentrated on the environment and improving environment conditions and O'Malley is on maintaining the states educational system.
The future for the state is looking bright because obama has his yes on another source of energy and that is what maryland has been using to power schools and also they have been testing alternative fuel with their large farm corn crop they have in the state.

media

There are many minor news papers in maryland that report the media such as the gazette with the name of each county as their producer and they are all privately owned. They report local news to the people. the major news outlet for maryland is the washing ton post they have been producing the news for maryland dc and va for years. They are the number one local newa paper that delivers the new to the people , in the past people believe that the writers for the washington post are very biased but throught out the years tehy have hired different writters to give a different point of view on topics.

A major readio media outlet in maryland is WTOP news they have 4 different stations on both AM and FM. when people are int heir cars or at work and they want to recieve the news with out a biased input workers and drivers turn to get the latest news from dc va and md.
